Mediterranean Gas is a Silver Sponsor of 22nd World LNG Summit & Awards

Mediterranean Gas today announced its silver sponsorship of the 22nd World LNG Summit & Awards, the end-of-year gathering for the global LNG industry, organized for the first time in Greece. Taking place at the Grand Hyatt Athens, Greece, on 29 November – 2 December 2022, the 22nd World LNG Summit & Awards will bring together global LNG leaders from across the value chain to define the critical role of LNG & gas in both energy security and the ongoing drive for decarbonization.

The company, initiated on November 1st its capacity allocation Open Season, an ongoing process and will present its project ARGO FSRU in Volos, on Summit day One, November 30, during session 3 “Europe LNG Panel: Why LNG Is Key To Energy Security In The Region”. During this session the distinguished speakers will discuss about the diversification from Russian gas and optimization of logistics, the challenge to import, distribution infrastructure and the regional energy development in this period. Mediterranean Gas CEO, Basilio Petkidis, will also present the strategically located, in the heart of Mediterranean and in the center of the Greek natural gas system, ARGO FSRU terminal in Volos, and elaborate on how it will support the regional energy security and diversification.

The event includes masterclasses, 3 days of summit, the World LNG Awards night where companies and individuals who have contributed to the development and future of the LNG industry through either commercial or technological innovation will be awarded and have the opportunity to network with key decision makers and leaders within the global LNG industry and also a Revithoussa LNG Terminal visit.

The ARGO FSRU in Volos, is an emblematic project that is being developed to contribute to the country’s energy needs and will increase the import and storage capacity across Balkan countries and Southeastern Europe. The regasification capacity of ARGO FSRU will amount to 5.2 bcm of natural gas per year. The LNG that will be shipped from various sources to Volos will be re-gasified, enter the National Natural Gas System, and transmitted through an axis of cross-border pipelines to North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Italy, and the rest of Europe. ARGO FSRU becomes the new energy hub for Greece and Europe.
